This video showcases El Grito de Independencia, one of the city's most anticipated cultural celebrations, organized by the Austin-Saltillo Sister Cities Association in partnership with the Consulate of Mexico in Austin. More than a commemoration, the event is a living tribute to history, heritage, and the enduring connection between Austin and Mexico.

Austin Day in Saltillo

Annual Delegation Visit

Held during the third week of July, this annual visit brings an Austin delegation to Saltillo for several days of celebration. The trip coincides with the anniversary of the city of Saltillo, which marks 449 years in 2026, and includes civic, cultural, and community events over a three-day period.

La Fiesta de Independencia de Mexico

ASSCA's signature annual event, El Grito 2026 celebrates Mexican Independence Day with a free, family-friendly gathering in downtown Austin. The evening features the historic reenactment of El Grito, live music, traditional food vendors, art exhibits, a poster contest, and a vibrant community celebration.
